Anthony Scannella was named the fifth head coach of the Felician women's track & field team in August 2019. He was promoted after spending the 2019 season as the Golden Falcons' sprints/jumps/hurdles assistant under interim coach Elson Smajlaj.

Scannella has been an assistant girls' indoor and outdoor coach for Bergen County Technical School in Hackensack for the last nine years. He is also the president of the United Athletes Track Club and was formerly the head coach of Saddle Brook Junior Track. He is USATF Level 2 certified in jumps.

He served one year as an assistant football coach (wide receivers/defensive backs) at Bergen Tech.

Scannella competed in track & field for East Stroudsburg University, qualifying for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships in hurdles and decathlon. He completed a B.S. in sports management at ESU in 2007, and then served as a graduate assistant in hurdles and jumps for the Warriors. He earned a second B.S. in physical education, health and driver's education from William Paterson University in 2012.

Scannella is a long-term substitute teacher at Lodi High School. He lives in Garfield.
