LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Felician University women's soccer team got off 22 shots and gained six corner kick opportunities, but was held scoreless in its 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon at Victory Field.

The loss removed Felician (3-10, 3-8 CACC) from CACC playoff contention. The Golden Falcons will miss the league tournament for only the second time in the last 11 years.

Chestnut Hill junior goalkeeper Leah Peshkin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) made 12 saves to earn the shutout. The Griffins supported her with a goal in each half.

CHC freshman Maddie Jimenez (Bensalem, Pa.) gave her team the lead with two minutes, one second, left before halftime. A shot by Felician sophomore Vanessa Driskill (Old Bridge, N.J.) in the closing seconds, her team's ninth of the period, was stopped by Peshkin, and the Griffins entered intermission with the 1-0 edge.

The Golden Falcons took the first eight shots of the second half, over a 12-minute stretch, but came up empty. In the 76th and 77th minutes, Peshkin denied Giana DiTonto (Lyndhurst, N.J.) twice. Her team rewarded her shortly thereafter when Marikate O'Toole (Philadelphia, Pa.) collected a long ball in front of the Felician goal, took one touch, and finished for the 2-0 cushion.

Felician sophomore keeper Jamie Kazenmayer (Forked River, N.J.) was credited with nine saves, as the Griffins took 20 shots in the back-and-forth affair. Jimenez led all player with six shots, and Danielle Jenkin (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) topped Felician with five.

Felician concludes its CACC slate with a 3 p.m. kickoff at Nyack College on Wednesday.
