Foster, Smith Qualify For CACC All-Academic Team

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University women's basketball student-athletes Treanda Foster (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) and Kristin Smith (Hainesport, N.J./Rancocas Valley) have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Winter 2017-18 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced on Wednesday. Foster earns the honor for the third time in her career, while Smith is a first-time winner.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have used a season of eligibility while participating in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a second-year student-athlete at their current school, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher at the end of the immediate preceding term.

Foster, a senior forward, appeared in all 27 games, starting eight. She averaged 2.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game. She will graduate among Felician's all-time top 10 players in both rebounds and blocked shots. Foster is a 2014 graduate of John F. Kennedy High of Bronx, N.Y. She carries a 3.56 GPA as a biology major.

Smith, a redshirt sophomore forward/center, played in all of the Golden Falcons' 27 games, starting 26. She turned in 6.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest. Smith, a 2015 graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional of Mount Holly, owns a 3.75 GPA while majoring psychology.

Felician has now has had 15 student-athletes earn Academic All-CACC honors this academic year.

Conference-wide, Foster and Smith were two of 36 student-athletes to be honored in women's basketball from the CACC's 14 member schools. The complete list can be viewed at
