LYNDHURST, N.J. – Bloomfield College came up with the game's only goal as six minutes, 21 seconds, showed on the regulation game clock to earn a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer victory over host Felician University on Wednesday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

Bloomfield (4-7, 3-5) won its fourth consecutive match after an 0-7 start to the season. The Bears also moved ahead of Felician in the CACC standings as the teams vie for a playoff berth.

Bloomfield out-shot the Golden Falcons, 9-5, in a scoreless first half. The sides, however, combined to put only three of the 14 attempts on goal.

Felician took four shots in the first 15 minutes of period two. After that point, the visitors started to gain the better of play. Twice in a four-minute stretch, Golden Falcon junior goalkeeper Joe Sartori (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) made athletic, high-difficulty saves on shots off the foot of Bloomfield sophomore Regsan Watkins (Cape Town, South Africa).

Fewer than two minutes after Sartori's second denial of Watkins, Bloomfield gained a corner kick. The offering by Bryan Medina (Dover, N.J.) from the right corner was deflected back outside the 18-yard box toward the right. Medina was the first man to the ball. He launched a shot over the box from 30 yards away. Sartori made a leap and put a fingertip on the shot, but could not prevent it from entering the upper-left corner of the net.

Neither team attempted a shot in the final six minutes of play. Bloomfield keeper Alex Idrovo (North Bergen, N.J.) made two saves to earn the shutout.

Sartori finished the night with four saves. The Bears ended the night with edges of 6-5 in corner kicks and 13-10 in shots. Watkins topped Bloomfield with four shots, while senior Maxi Ojeda (Yonkers, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) got off four for Felician (2-9-1, 2-6).

Felician welcomes Holy Family University to Lyndhurst at 8 p.m. on Saturday to cap Homecoming and Family Weekend.
