Men's Soccer Game Versus Post Declared No Contest

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer match pitting Felician University against visiting Post University on Wednesday night was suspended with 29 minutes, 49 seconds, remaining in regulation time and declared "no contest."

Except for three yellow caution cards issued to Felician, Wednesday's statistics do not count. The game must be rescheduled and will start from the beginning. No make-up date has been determined.

Wednesday's match was preceded at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex by a high-school game and a women's game between Post and Felician. The college women's match contained a 33-minute lightning delay in the second half. The men's game, scheduled for an 8 p.m. start, kicked off at about 8:45.

Post led, 1-0, at halfime, and was ahead, 2-0, when officials called the teams off the field for a lightning delay that lasted more than 80 minutes. As the Eagles were celebrating their third goal of the night, the officials huddled, determined that they had again seen lightning, and ended the match at approximately 11:20 p.m.

By NCAA rule, a game that is suspended before 70 minutes are played is declared "no contest."

Felician is off until its Oct. 3 date with Dominican (N.Y.) College in Orangeburg, N.Y.
