RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University redshirt junior Ausar Wright (Pemberton, N.J./Ewing) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Mar. 10, the CACC announced on Monday.
Wright, a 6-foot-2, 181-pound midfielder, combined for nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers in a pair of losses last week during the Golden Falcons' spring break trip to northern California. He set a school-record with five caused turnovers in a neutral-site loss to Colorado State University-Pueblo on Saturday. Felician is competing in its second season as a varsity intercollegiate program.

Wright has played in all four games for the Golden Falcons this season. He owns eight points on a team-high seven goals and one assist and has also collected 10 ground balls and caused a Felician-best eight turnovers. He is a 2015 graduate of Ewing High School, and previously played for Chestnut Hill College.
Wright is the second Felician men's lacrosse player to collect a CACC weekly award. Anthony Major II was recognized as the Rookie of the Week on Apr. 23, 2018.
Also on Monday, freshman faceoff man José McLean-Byrd (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Saint Michael Academy) was chosen for the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. Additionally, senior baseball shortstop L.T. Struble (Hammonton, N.J/Hammonton), senior baseball pitcher Jacob Nappi (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) and sophomore softball catcher Keelee Davis (Chula Vista, Calif./Eastlake) were selected to the CACC Weekly Honor Rolls in their sports.
Felician (0-4, 0-0 CACC) is guided by second-year head coach Brendan Bonacum of Lyndhurst. Wright, McLean-Byrd and the Golden Falcons are next in action on Mar. 20, when they face St. Thomas Aquinas College at 4 p.m. in Sparkill, N.Y.
