RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Jared Baumeister of New York, N.Y., and Travis Blau of Jackson have been named assistant men's lacrosse coaches at Felician University, Felician head coach Brendan Bonacum announced today.
Felician is competing in its second varsity intercollegiate season. Both men have assisted with the Golden Falcons on a volunteer basis since the program's inception, taking on their first collegiate coaching positions.
Baumeister serves as Felician's offensive coordinator. He is a member of the French national team, having represented France at the 2012 & 2016 European Championships, the 2013 Celtic Cup, and the 2014 & 2018 World Championships.
A captain and all-state selection at The Morristown-Beard School, Baumeister played collegiately at Franklin & Marshall College. He completed his bachelor of arts degree in political science at The Ohio State University in 2005. Baumeister went on to earn a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 2008 and an M.S. from the Columbia University School of Journalism in 2011.
Blau is primarily responsible for player development of the Golden Falcon defense. He has previous experience as the goalkeepers' coach and defensive coordinator for Saint Rose High School of Belmar.
Blau was a goalie at Monsignor Donovan High of Toms River (now Donovan Catholic) and at Division-I Mount St. Mary's (Md.) University. He owns a B.S. in sports management from MSMU (2012), a B.A. in English from Kean University (2013) and an M.A. in higher education and student affairs from Seton Hall University (2018).
Felician is next in action on Thursday, traveling to Belmont, Calif., for non-conference action against Notre Dame de Namur University.
