Frank Collazo was named a full member of the Felician baseball staff in January 2019 and assigned as the pitching coach shortly thereafter. Affectionately called "Coach Dad" by Golden Falcon players, Collazo had served as a volunteer assistant for Chris Langan from 2015-17 and returned as such for the fall 2018 campaign. In between, he was a volunteer assistant coach for Brookdale Community College.
For 15 years, Collazo coached in the Jersey Shore Baseball League, one of the oldest amateur travel leagues in the country. His teams won six JSBL championships. He is on the staff of the Ocean Gulls of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, a wood-bat, NCAA-sanctioned summer league for players with college eligibility.
He worked with the pitchers for Brookdale in 2018 and helped the Jersey Blues to the regional finals.
In 2017, Langan established the Frank Collazo Award, to be bestowed upon a member of the Felician baseball program who displays "blue-collar, lunch-pail type" qualities. Langan then named Collazo the first recipient.
Collazo resides in Wall with his wife, Kelly. All three of their children participated in college athletics. Chris (Monmouth University '09) and Jay (Felician '14) played baseball, while daughter Breynn graduated from Monmouth in 2015 following her soccer career. Chris Collazo is now Monmouth's assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator.
