Golden Falcons Induct 10, Re-Honor 20, Into Chi Alpha Sigma

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University held its fourth annual induction ceremony for the National College Athlete Honor Society (NCAHS), Chi Alpha Sigma, on Sunday, May 6, in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn-Hasbrouck Heights. The event was held in conjunction with Felician's annual senior student-athlete banquet.

Felician instituted the New Jersey Omicron chapter of NCAHS in 2015.

In order to be inducted into NCAHS, candidates must be at least a junior academically and a letterwinner in a varsity intercollegiate sport at an NCAA or NAIA institution. Inductees must carry a 3.40 grade-point average, be recommended by the chapter advisor, and be of good moral character.

Felician president Dr. Anne M. Prisco was on hand to honor 30 Golden Falcon student-athletes across 10 sports that comprised the fourth class of honorees, which is listed below. Ten of them – seven juniors and three seniors – were first-time inductees.

Associate director of athletics Andrew Toriello is in his first year as Felician's chapter advisor.

"Student-athletes are forced to juggle strenuous class schedules with hectic practice and game times," Toriello said. "This group has taken both sides of the 'student-athlete' moniker seriously. I can speak for myself and our department in saying how truly proud we are of them."
