WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – Felician University senior co-captains Sabrina Roldan (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) and Kate Rohsler (Fredon, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) finished eighth and 13th, respectively, at the Ramapo College Women's Cross-Country Season Opener, held Friday evening at Garret Mountain Reservation.
The race, on a 5,000-meter course, contained 80 entrants. Roldan crossed the finish line in 21 minutes, 28 seconds. Three of the seven runners to finish ahead of her came from the host Roadrunners. Rohsler turned in her fastest 5K time in nearly two years, a 22:06.
Junior Kelly Murphy (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) was Felician's No. 3 scorer, placing 59th overall in 26:59. Rounding out the Golden Falcon contingent were a pair of freshmen making their collegiate debuts. Chantel Monegro (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) ran a 28:11 and finished 66th, while Arshlene Ciede (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) was 75th in 31:50.
The Golden Falcons totaled 149 points to finish between fifth-place Arcadia University (107) and Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham (175) in seventh.
Ramapo won the team championship with 43 points, edging the 51 of Montclair State University. Roadrunner junior Paris Hughes was the individual winner with a time of 20:04.
