BRONX, N.Y. – The Felician College women's cross-country team opened its 2014 season on Saturday morning at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial, hosted by Fordham University at Van Cortlandt Park. Felician finished in 10th place out of 11 schools in the non-Division I portion of the event.

Sophomore Sabrina Roldán (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) was the frontrunner for the Golden Falcons. On an unseasonably warm, humid September morning, Roldán traversed the 5,000-meter course in 21 minutes, 51 seconds. She placed 40th overall out of 113 small-school entrants.

Felician's final four scorers crossed the finish line within 19 seconds of each other. Senior Sylvia Bialy (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) placed 81st in 23:42, and classmate Andrea Sarracino (Wood-Ridge, N.J./St. Mary-Rutherford) was right behind in 83rd, clocking in at 23:45.

Also scoring for the Golden Falcons were junior Michelle Camacho (Moonachie, N.J./Wood-Ridge) (86th, 23:56) and sophomore Kate Rohsler (Fredon, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) (87th, 24:01).

Felician was second out of three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schools in attendance. The Golden Falcons' 268 points were 17 behind the United States Merchant Marine Academy in ninth place, and 41 better than 11th place Dominican (N.Y.) College.

East Stroudsburg University claimed the non-Division I team championship with 51 points. Julie Friend, a sophomore at California University of Pennsylvania, was the individual champion in 18:51.

On the Division-I side, Rutgers University put four runners in the top 10, including champion Paige Senatore (18:58), to win the meet with 43 points, 16 fewer than runner-up Fairfield University.
