Women's Cross-Country Previews CACC Championship Course

PHILADELPHIA -- The Felician College women's cross-country team previewed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship course by participating in the Philly Metro Small College Invitational, hosted by Philadelphia University at Belmont Plateau on Saturday morning.

While the Golden Falcons did not receive a team score, two Felician competitors set season-best times. Sophomore Sylvia Bialy (Lodi, N.J.) was once again the team's frontrunner, clocking a time of 23 minutes, 12 seconds, for 5,000 meters. Bialy placed 31st out of 124 competitors.

Sophomore Andrea Sarracino (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) had her best meet of the season, staking her claim as Felician's No. 2 performer. Sarracino ran a time of 23:34 and finished 39th on the day.

Also competing for Felician were sophomores Lianne Rossi (Nutley, N.J.) (25:16, 64th) and Samantha Kamphausen (East Rutherford, N.J.) (season-best 27:44, 96th).

The host Rams won the event for the fifth consecutive year, scoring 55 points. Sophomore Althea Davidson of Wilmington (Del.) University was the individual champion in 20:12.

The CACC Championship meet will be held at Belmont Plateau, located inside Fairmount Park, on Oct. 21.
