BRONX, N.Y. -- Two members of the Felician College women's cross-country team made their Golden Falcon debut at the Fordham University Fiasco on Saturday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.
With the field more than 30 schools strong, Fordham split the day into a Division I race and a Division II/III race for the first time ever. Junior Alyssa Collier (Toms River, NJ) finished 50th out of 148 runners in the latter, completing 5,000 meters in 22 minutes, 11 seconds. Felician was competing in its first race of the season and has no returnees from 2010. Collier is a transfer from Ocean County College.
Also running for the Golden Falcons was freshman Sylvia Bialy (Lodi, NJ), who placed 100th in 24:26. Felician did not receive a team score.
Rowan University was the team champion, putting five runners in the top eight and finishing 14 points better than East Stroudsburg University. Rosie Mascoli of East Stroudsburg took individual honors in 18:28.
