Golden Falcon Volleyball Drops Back-And-Forth Affair

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Three members of the Felician College women's volleyball team recorded "double-doubles" in the Golden Falcons' 3-1 (26-24, 18-25, 26-24, 25-20) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to visiting Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at Job Gymnasium.

Felician received 29 assists and 10 digs from senior setter Megan Delamater (Paramus, NJ/Paramus). Delamater also registered the 100th service ace of her career, becoming the first player in program history to reach that mark. The Golden Falcons served a season-high 15 aces on the night.

Freshman Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany/KGSE) recorded 13 kills, 10 digs and three aces for the Golden Falcons. Junior Jenna Matesic (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) added 12 kills, 12 digs and five aces.

Concordia (2-15, 2-10) came back from a 23-20 deficit to win the first set. Felician never trailed in Set 2, getting out to a 20-9 advantage before holding on.

The third set was almost a mirror image of the first, featuring seven ties and six lead changes before the Clippers once again erased a set point. Like in Set 1, Concordia scored the last three points to earn the victory. Concordia led, 20-7 in Set 4, with Felician saving seven match points before finally falling.

Sophomore Hillary Hoffman (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) put up 31 assists, nine digs, and five blocks for Concordia, which owned a 10-3 blocking advantage. Felician senior Ashlee DiSalvo (Batavia, NY/Batavia) led all players with 24 digs.
