Volleyball Succumbs To Caldwell In Three

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Despite a season-high 26 digs from senior libero Ashlee DiSalvo (Batavia, NY/Batavia), the Felician Collge women's volleyball team lost to visiting Caldwell College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-13) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division action on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium.

Caldwell (9-0, 6-0 CACC) rode the hot hand of junior outside Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) to remain unbeaten in 2011. McDonough finished with 20 kills, 10 digs and two aces while hitting .514 on the night. The Cougars, who out-hit Felician, .295-.019, never trailed in the final two sets.

DiSalvo fell one dig short of her career high, set last year in a five-set match. Freshman Anni Polscher (Elmshorn, Germany/KGSE) recorded a team-high seven kills and nine digs for the Golden Falcons (0-12, 0-5)

The Cougars earned their second victory over Felician in nine days.
