RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Allie Couzo (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) has been named to the 2011 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Second Team, the CACC released today. The conference's 13 head coaches voted on the award winners. Felician junior JoJo Pisani (Wyckoff, NJ/Hasbrouck Heights) was an Honorable-Mention All-CACC selection.
Couzo, a 5-foot-6 goalkeeper, is an all-conference selection for the first time. She started 16 games for the Golden Falcons, posting a 10-6 record, a 1.37 goals-against average and four solo shutouts. She ranks third in the CACC in both GAA and saves (94), and helped Felician slice its team GAA by more than 1 ½ goals from a year ago.
A three-year starter, Couzo has a career record of 21-16-2 with six shutouts and a 1.93 GAA. She is tied for second at Felician in career goalkeeping victories, and was also a 2010 Academic All-CACC honoree. She is a 2009 graduate of Sayreville War Memorial.
Pisani completed her first season as a central midfielder after playing striker for most of her high school and college career. She led Felician in shots (53) and was third in points, recording 17 on seven goals and three assists while starting all 18 matches. Pisani scored the only goal in two Felician 1-0 victories this season.
The Golden Falcons were defeated, 3-1, in first-round CACC playoff action by Dominican (N.Y.) College on Tuesday. They complete the season with a won-lost-tied record of 11-6-1, and finished second in the CACC regular-season standings with a 9-3 league mark.
Felician has now had 11 student-athletes earn all-conference honors this academic year.
