ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – A tie-breaking goal by sophomore forward Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, NJ) lifted Felician College to a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over host Dominican (N.Y.) College on Tuesday afternoon at DC Field.

With the match tied, 1-1, Arcona collected a pass, got around a defender and created space for herself in the 61st minute of action. She then blasted a shot from the left corner of the 18-yard box into the upper-right corner of the net. Dominican (1-3, 1-1 CACC) was able to get five shots off in the final 29 minutes but the Golden Falcon defense held on. Felician survived shot disadvantages of 8-3 for the second half and 13-7 for the game.

Felician (3-1, 2-0) drew first blood on a strong individual effort by junior Emily Gleason (East Hanover, NJ). After beating two defenders, Gleason clanged a shot off the post and into the net at 28:29 for her first goal of the season. The Golden Falcons took the 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Chargers drew even just 3:07 into the second half on a Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) tally.

Felician junior goalkeeper Allie Couzo (Sayreville, NJ) earned the victory with five saves, including two after Arcona's go-ahead score. Veronica Iozzi (Chester, NJ) stopped three shots for Dominican. Felician is 2-0 in CACC play for the first time since 2003.
