PHILADELPHIA – The last of the game's 12 lead changes, coming with 12 seconds left in regulation time, lifted the Jefferson Rams to a 63-62 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Felician University on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.

Jefferson (21-2, 13-1 CACC) (formerly Philadelphia University) entered the day ranked No. 4 in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region media poll and tied for first place in the CACC South Division.

A successful foul line jump shot by Ram sophomore guard Alynna Williams (Ambler, Pa.) provided her team's margin of victory. Out of a Felician timeout, freshman guard Bionca Chambers (New Milford, N.J.) drove into the lane and got a shot off inside the foul line, but the ball hit the front rim and bounced off as time expired.

Junior Erin Maher (Lansdale) and senior Rachel Day (Horsham, Pa.) (seven rebounds, four steals) scored 14 points apiece to top Jefferson. Golden Falcon senior forward Kameron Stone (Bronx, N.Y.) accumulated 15 points and 11 rebounds in defeat.

A see-saw first quarter saw both teams possess five-point leads before Jefferson ended the period on an 8-0 run for a 22-19 edge. The Rams led, 26-21, mid-way through the second period, but five points in the final two minutes by Marta Moix (Madrid, Spain/John Carroll School [Md.]) helped Felician to recover and be on top, 32-31, at halftime.

Jefferson outscored the Golden Falcons 13-2 in the first six minutes of period three, capped by Day's conventional three-point play, for its largest lead of the day, 44-34. Felician answered with a 10-1 of its own to pull within one. Maher's two free throws allowed Philadelphia to exit the quarter ahead, 47-44.

Stone's three-point play put the visitors ahead, 59-55, with 3:11 remaining. A basket-and-free throw from Day knotted things a 59-59, and when the teams traded layups, 1:48 remained in a 61-61 contest.

That score remained on the board until the 0:39 mark, when Felician's Kristin Smith (Hainesport, N.J.) was fouled on a putback attempt. Smith made only her first attempt at the line, and out of a timeout, the Rams ran the shot clock down before Williams's heroics.

Williams finished with 12 points and Jessica Kaminsky (Philadelphia, Pa.) totaled 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams. Chambers scored 12 points and Smith added 11 points and six rebounds for Felician (6-14, 4-9). Golden Falcon senior Shana Owen (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Golden Falcons travel to Waterbury, Conn., on Wednesday for a pivotal CACC North affair with Post University.
