Felician's Foster, Trotman Named CACC All-Academic

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University women's basketball student-athletes Treanda Foster (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy), a junior, and senior Taylor Trotman (East Orange, N.J./University HS) have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Winter 2016-17 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced last Thursday. Foster earns the honor for the second time in her career, while Trotman is a first-time winner.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have used a season of eligibility while participating in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a second-year student-athlete at their current school, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher at the end of the immediate preceding term.

Foster, a forward, played in 23 of Felician's 26 games this season, staring one. She averaged 1.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game. She carries a 3.55 GPA while majoring in biology. Foster is a 2014 graduate of John F. Kennedy High of Bronx, N.Y.

Trotman, a fifth-year senior guard, sat out the entire 2016-17 campaign due to injury. She maintains a 3.53 GPA while majoring in elementary education. She is a 2012 graduate of University High of Newark, and transferred to Felician after one season each at the University of Bridgeport and Dominican (N.Y.) College.

Conference-wide, Foster and Trotman were two of 31 student-athletes to be honored in women's basketball from the 14 member schools. Felician now has had 14 CACC All-Academic honorees in the 2016-17 academic year.
