RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University women's basketball junior Marya Trapp (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll of the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II/III Player of the Week program. The recognition, announced on Tuesday, was for the period ending Dec. 18.

Trapp, a 6-foot forward, turned in 15.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game despite an 0-2 week for Felician (2-10). She totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds in a Dec. 14 home loss to Southern New Hampshire University, and followed with 14 points and 14 boards on Dec. 17 in a setback at Saint Michael's College.
The MBWA, in its 84th year, coordinates the oldest set of continuous college basketball postseason awards presented by the media. The MBWA Player of the Week program was revived two years ago after first being handed out from 2004-05 to 2008-09.
Felician is next in action on Dec. 30, when it hosts Mercy College at 1 p.m. in Rutherford.
