RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Bloomfield College used strong defense and superior offensive rebounding to earn an 81-59 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over host Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

Felician junior forward Marya Trapp (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) scored 20 points and led all players with 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. Golden Falcon sophomore guard Danelle Gibson (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) produced 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists, all season highs. Junior forward Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J./Union CC) paced Bloomfield (4-3, 2-0 CACC) with 22 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

Bloomfield held the Golden Falcons (1-7, 1-3) to 30 percent shooting from the floor, including 5 of 20 (25 percent) from three-point range. The Bears also forced 25 Felician turnovers, which they converted into 32 points. The visitors owned a 48-42 rebounding edge, including 22-12 on the offensive glass, and amassed a 24-7 advantage in second-chance points.

The Bears, who never trailed, took control early, using a 13-1 first-quarter run to turn an 8-8 tie into a 12-point lead. Bloomfield settled for a 21-14 spread at the end of the first. Still ahead by nine with 6:23 to go in the opening half, the visitors went up by 19 late in the second quarter and 41-23 at halftime.

A three-point field goal by Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, Nev./Delaware State University) handed the Bears their largest lead of the day, 57-29, with 4:06 remaining in the third period. The hosts never drew closer than a 20-point deficit for the remainder of the contest.

Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) totaled 19 points for Bloomfield, and Floyd came off the bench to score 11 points with five rebounds in 17 minutes. Safiyyah Lee (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) (seven rebounds) and Marta Moix (Madrid, Spain/John Carroll School [Md.]) netted nine points apiece for Felician.

Trapp, the CACC's leading shot-blocker, recorded her third "double-double" in eight starts this season.

The Golden Falcons continue a four-game homestand with another CACC North Division contest on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against Dominican (N.Y.) College.
