RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The University of the Sciences broke a 12-12 tie with a 14-0 run to open the second quarter en route to a 71-41 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over host Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium. USciences (9-15, 9-6 CACC) earned its fifth consecutive victory.

Senior guard Megan Wolf (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) led a balanced offense for the Devils with 14 points and added five rebounds. Felician graduate swing player Alex Salaycik (Staten Island, N.Y./Moore Catholic) totaled 11 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.

Felician (2-20, 2-13) recovered from an early 9-4 deficit to knot the score at 12-12 at the end of the first 10 minutes of action. But USciences held the Golden Falcons scoreless for the first five minutes, 48 seconds, of period two. A three-point field goal by Devil junior Natalie Stella (Landenberg, Pa./Wilmington Christian [Del.]) with 9:24 left in the half gave the visitors the lead for good, and another Stella three at the 5:49 mark handed the Devils a 26-12 edge. USciences took that same margin, 34-20, into halftime.

In outscoring Felician, 22-8, for the period, the Devils made 8 of 15 field goals (53 percent) and held the Golden Falcons to 19-percent shooting (3 of 16).

The Golden Falcons came as close as a 12-point deficit on two occasions in the third quarter, but the Devils put the game away with a 15-2 spurt for a 51-26 advantage with 2:03 left in the period. USciences led, 51-31, after three quarters, and by as many as 32 points in the fourth.

The Devils sank 12 three-point field goals, including six in the decisive second quarter. Seven different USciences players made at least one three. The Devils also helped force 30 Golden Falcon turnovers, which they converted into 27 points.

Sophomores Laura Trisch (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) (eight rebounds) and Molly Greenberg (Meadowbrook, Pa./St. Basil Academy) (six rebounds, four steals) netted 12 points each for the Devils. Freshman Alex Thomas (Hockessin, Del./St. Elizabeth) totaled 10 points and five assists, and Stella finished with nine points.

Freshman Hannah Johnson (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Dominic Academy) amassed nine points, five rebounds, and five steals for Felician. Classmate Remi Iwelu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) scored eight points, and sophomore Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Felician is 2 ½ games out of playoff position in the CACC North Division with four games remaining.
