RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College department athletics will welcome members of the Rutherford Recreation Youth Basketball Program to watch the Golden Falcon women's and men's basketball teams host the University of the Sciences on Saturday, February 1.
Felician women's basketball (8-10, 6-5 CACC) will take on USciences (12-6, 7-4) at 1 p.m. on Saturday. At approximately 3 p.m., the Golden Falcon (4-14, 2-9) and Devil (10-8, 6-5) men will tip off. The contests will be played in Job Gymnasium on Felician's Rutherford Campus. The main entrance to the campus is on West Passaic Avenue, with alternate parking available in lots on Montross Avenue and Milton Court.
Tickets for Saturday's games are $5 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. Rutherford Recreation basketball players who wear their recreation T-shirt will be admitted for free. Admission is also free for Felician students, faculty, staff and alumni with proper identification. One ticket gains admission for both games.
Under the leadership of recreation director Barbara Bennett, the Rutherford Recreation Basketball Program consists of boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade, separated by gender and into five age groups. In total, approximately 600 children participate.
Felician is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Steve Fagan of Howell is in his sixth season as the women's head coach of the Golden Falcons, while fifth-year coach David DeFerrari of Secaucus guides the Felician men's squad.
