RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College fifth-year senior Que Lyles (Bronx, N.Y./Banana Kelly) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 17, the CACC announced today. Lyles becomes just the second player to ever win the award, which was instituted for this season.
Lyles, a 5-foot-11 forward/center, started both games in Felician's 1-1 week. In the two contests, she totaled 17 rebounds, including 13 of the defensive variety, and added six steals and one blocked shot. She accumulated eight points, 10 rebounds and two steals in the Golden Falcons' CACC victory at Nyack College on Nov. 13.
Lyles has played in all four Golden Falcon games this season, starting three. She is averaging 12.0 points, a team-high 8.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
Lyles is a 2009 graduate of Banana Kelly High in Bronx, N.Y., and began her collegiate playing career at Monroe College. She transferred to Felician in 2011, and as a junior, set the Golden Falcon single-season record for blocked shots. She took an academic redshirt year in 2012-13.
