RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University student-athlete Mike Secreti (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) has been voted to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross-Country Team for District 1 in NCAA Division II. Members of CoSIDA coordinate and select the team.
Secreti was a Third-Team Academic All-America® selection in 2016. As an Academic All-District choice this year, he will once again move on to represent Felician on the Division II CoSIDA national ballot.
A 5-foot-11, 145-pound senior, Secreti is an Academic All-District selection for the third consecutive year. He is only the third Golden Falcon to accomplish that feat, joining Alysia Arcona (women's soccer, 2011-13) and Rob Albano (men's cross-country, 2011-13).
A list of all Felician student-athletes to ever win CoSIDA Academic-All-District accolades can be viewed at www.felicianathletics.com/information/Ac-A-A.
In 2016, Secreti finished sixth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Cross-Country Championship race, earning all-CACC honors for the third time. Two weeks later, he placed 56th at the NCAA Division II East Regional. He posted top five finishes at the Ramapo College Season Opener (4th/74) and the Caldwell University Cougar Chase (3rd/67). Felician does not sponsor varsity men's track & field.
A three-time member of the Academic All-CACC Team, Secreti is a two-time winner of the CACC's Top XV Award, given to the runner with the highest cumulative grade-point average at the conference championship meet. He was the CACC's Student-Athlete of the Month in September 2015, and has twice earned an All-Academic Individual Award from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association. He is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma College Athlete Honor Society.
Secreti is a psychology major with a cumulative GPA of 3.99. He is a 2013 graduate of Paramus High.
CoSIDA's District 1 for NCAA Division II is comprised of all members of the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference.
