PHILADELPHIA – Junior Mike Secreti (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) finished fourth and freshman Andre Francisco (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) debuted in 19th place for Felician College at the 36th Annual Philadelphia Metropolitan Men's Cross-Country College Invitational, hosted by Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon at Belmont Plateau.
Led by Secreti and Francisco, as well as a 33rd-place result from senior Aiden Lynch (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee), Felician came in seventh out of 15 complete teams. The Golden Falcons were sixth of the nine Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schools in attendance. Belmont Plateau is the site of the 2015 CACC Championship race, to be hosted by the University of the Sciences on October 25.
Secreti continued his streak of finishing in the top 10 of all 12 of his career regular-season races. He completed the 8,000-meter course in 28 minutes, 43 seconds. Francisco, a walk-on, was the Golden Falcons' No. 2 man with a time of 30:22, and Lynch turned in a 31:45. The event contained 121 male entrants.
Felician scored 179 points, and was edged out by three points for sixth place by USciences. The Golden Falcons were seven points better than eighth-place Caldwell University.
Franklin Pierce University placed four runners among the top six finishers and easily captured the team championship with 28 points. Chestnut Hill College sophomore Giancarlo Martines ran a 28:01 and was the individual winner by 14 seconds.
