RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College men's cross-country team, guided by 11th-year head coach John Brennan, remained the No. 8 team in the NCAA Division II East Region according to the most recent set of regional rankings released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.
Felician was also No. 8 in last week's poll, and has been as high as the No. 7 slot this season.
Felician is one of three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams in the ranking. The Golden Falcons remained one slot behind Wilmington (Del.) University and one slot ahead of Philadelphia University, despite finishing behind Philadelphia in a head-to-head match-up on Oct. 6 at the Jack St. Clair Memorial. The Golden Falcons were without three of their usual top five runners in that event and were 10 points behind the Rams, placing fourth overall out of 15 schools.
The East Region top 10 was almost unchanged from the previous week. The same 10 teams appeared in the ranking, with current No. 3 American International College switching spots with No. 4 Bentley University.
Felician has won nine CACC championships in its 12-year history, including the last two, and next competes at the 2012 CACC race on October 21 in Philadelphia.
