Albano Earns CACC Award For Third Consecutive Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross-Country Co-Runner of the Week, the CACC announced on Monday. Albano wins or shares the honor for the third consecutive week.

Albano broke his own Felician record for 8,000 meters last Friday at the Lehigh Paul Short Run College White Race. His time of 25 minutes, 40 seconds, eclipsed his previous mark by 14 seconds. He finished second out of 357 entrants in the race, and led Felician to a second-place team result out of 42 squads.

Albano has finished in the top 10 in all four of his races this season for the Golden Falcons, the No. 7-ranked team in the NCAA Division II East Region. He is the conference Runner of the Week for the 10th time in his career, and shares this week's honor with Bill Steele of Wilmington (Del) University. He is a 2009 graduate of Pequannock Township High.

Also on Monday, junior Taylor Trumbetti (Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week after finishing 15th at Lehigh. More information is available at http://www.caccathletics.org/sports/xc/2011-12/releases/XCwr10-3-11.
