Albano Repeats As CACC Runner Of The Week

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Rob Albano (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week, the CACC announced on Monday. Albano earns the honor for the second consecutive week.

For the third consecutive year, Albano was the individual winner at the Philly Metro Small College Invitational, hosted by Cabrini College. At this year's race, held on Saturday at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, he defeated 122 other entrants, completing the 8,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 50 seconds. He led Felician to its second straight Philly Metro team title.

Albano, who has been Felician's frontrunner in all three of its races this season, wins the CACC Runner of the Week award outright after sharing it a week ago. He earns the honor for the ninth time in his career. He is a 2009 graduate of Pequannock Township High.

Also on Monday, Felician junior Taylor Trumbetti (Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) was chosen to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll after finishing third in the Philly Metro Invitational. More information is available at  http://www.caccathletics.org/sports/xc/2011-12/releases/WRxc9-26-11.
