RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Recent high-school graduates Joe Eagan (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Township) and Nick Mardirosian (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) have signed national letters of intent to continue their men's cross-country careers at Felician College, Golden Falcons head coach John Brennan announced today. Brennan also announced the signing by Felician of two other members of the Class of 2015, Keenan Huggins-Filozof (Farmingdale, NJ/Freehold Township) and Stephen Omari (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) to athletic financial aid agreements for men's cross-country.
Felician, a member of NCAA Division II, competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). In 2010, the Golden Falcons won the CACC team championship, placed five runners on the all-conference team, and were ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II East Region. Felician has won eight CACC titles in the 11-year history of the program.
Eagan, 5-foot-10, won a South Jersey Group I championship with Haddon Township High in 2010, and also was a member of a South Jersey Open Division I title-winning team in track. He was a two-time all-conference performer in both sports. He is also a former member of the Westmont Winter Track Club. Eagan expects to major in mathematics at Felician.
Mardirosian ran at Southern Regional High of Manahawkin. He has a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 16:23 in the 2010 Shore Conference championships. He intends to study nursing.
The 5-foot-10 Huggins-Filozof was a third-team all-state group selection for Freehold Township High. He was a first-team all-Shore, all-county, and all state section honoree, and was voted onto the regional high school district all-star team. Huggins-Filozof anticipates majoring in accounting.
Omari, a native of Kenya, ran for two consecutive Camden County championship squads at Cherry Hill East. He was an all-conference honoree in both cross-country and track. He will study biology at Felician.
