RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- Felician College junior Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, NJ) and sophomore Chris Zito (Hackensack, NJ) each shot 170 for 36 holes, leading the Golden Falcon delegation at the Peter King Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Dowling College on Saturday and Sunday at Long Island National Golf Course.
Tsouhnikas shot the team's individual low round of the weekend, coming up with an 82 on Sunday following a first-round 88. Zito, who shot 84-86, shaved 20 strokes off of his previous outing. The duo tied for 72nd place in the 18-team event.
Also in the line-up for Felician was senior Jimmy Schmitt (Elmwood Park, NJ) (87th, 124-119-243), who was making his collegiate debut, and junior Anthony Bizien (Hazlet, NJ) (88th, 133-135-268). The Golden Falcons' team score of 429-422-851 was good for 18th place.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell won the tournament with a 34-over-par two-day total of 602 (298-304), defeating Daemen College by two strokes. Tommy Linehan of St. Thomas Aquinas College took medalist honors, firing 70-76-146 on the par-71, 6,838-yard course.
