LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. -- Despite a team best 81 from junior Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, NJ), the Felician College men's golf team lost both ends of its tri-match hosted by Philadelphia University on Sunday at the ACE Club. Concordia (N.Y.) College defeated the host Rams by one stroke with a 333, and Philadelphia also topped the Golden Falcons, 334-374.
Tsouhnikas's nine-over-par round on the 6,700-yard course was good for third place out of 15 competitors, and was supported by an 89 (10th) from junior Elliott Gdanski (Niagara Falls, Ontario). Also in the line-up for Felician were junior Matt Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) (100, 12th) and senior Jimmy Simpson (Biscayne Park, FL) (104, 13th).
Two Concordia golfers bested Tsouhnikas on the day. Sam Deitte was the medalist with a +3 total of 75, and Eutimo Meade blasted a 77. The matches marked Felician's first duals of the season after four invitationals.
Felician concludes its Fall 2011 season with the Goldey-Beacom Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
