Golf Team Begins 2011-12 Campaign

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- The Felician College men's golf team began its 2011-12 campaign with an 11th place showing at the College of Saint Rose Fall Shootout, held Friday and Saturday at Pinehaven Country Club.

Junior Barry Tsouhnikas (Clifton, NJ) led the Felician contingent, tying for 39th place out of 58 competitors. Tshouhnikas carded an 85 on Friday and 81 on Saturday on the par-71 course, for a +24 total of 166. Junior transfer Elliott Gdanski (Niagara Falls, Ontario) began the tournament with a 92 before righting himself with 75 on Saturday for a 167, tying for 42nd place.

Also among the scorers for Felician were junior Matt Smith (Gibbstown, NJ) (84-93-177, T-50th), and senior and first-year player Jimmy Simpson (Biscayne Park, FL) (110-108-218, 57th). Felicians' team total was 371-357-728.

Bentley University won the tournament with 306-299-605. Anthony Viskovich of Le Moyne College was the individual medalist with 73-72-145. Click here for complete results.

The Felician golf team plays half its season in the fall and half in the spring. The conference and NCAA championships are in the spring season.
