RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College men's basketball student-athlete Jimmy Schmitt (Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Memorial) has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Winter 2011-12 All-Academic Team, the CACC announced on Tuesday.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC winter championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher.

Schmitt was chosen CACC All-Academic in his only season of eligibility for the honor after transferring to Felician from Bergen Community College prior to his junior season. A senior guard, he owns a 3.97 GPA as a mathematics education major. He was honored in February as a Capital One First-Team Academic All-District selection, and was a member of the 2010-11 NABC Honors Court.

Schmitt was one of 32 student-athletes conference-wide to be honored on the Winter All-Academic Team. He is the 15th CACC All-Academic honoree for Felician this academic year.
