RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Felician College men's basketball team produced a season-high scoring output, nailing 13 three-point field goals in an 89-76 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Nyack College on Senior Night on Thursday at Job Gymnasium.
Junior Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) (10-20 FC, 5-10 3FG) posted career highs of 25 points and nine rebounds for Felician (7-17, 4-12 CACC), which snapped an eight-game losing streak. Senior John Tello (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park) shot 10 for 14 from the floor and scored 23 points, while Tajric Boggs'(Coram, NY/Longwood) totals of 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists were all season highs. Boggs added five steals.
Nyack led by as many as 14 points in the first half but settled for a 40-38 halftime lead despite shooting 61 percent from the floor. Felician canned three-pointers on its first three possessions of the second half, touching off an 18-6 run in the first four-plus minutes for a 10-point lead. The Warriors (0-26, 0-16) never got closer than an eight point deficit the rest of the night.
Jose Pena-Benjamin (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) led four double-figure scorers for Nyack with 22 points and seven rebounds. Senior Lafayette Curtis (Staten Island, NY) had 20 points, seven rebounds and eight blocks.
Tello and Jimmy Schmitt (Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park) (5 points, 5 assists) were honored in pre-game Senior Night ceremonies.
