RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Chet Godfrey (Millville, NJ/Millville) and junior Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) earned weekly baseball awards on Monday from separate organizations.
Godfrey was named the Division II/III Rookie Pitcher of the Week by the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA), earning that honor for the second time this season. A 5-foot-11 right-hander, he started and earned the win in Felician's 6-1 non-conference road victory over Mercy College last Thursday. In six shutout innings, Godfrey allowed six hits (all singles), struck out two and walked two.
On the season, Godfrey has made 15 appearances, including five starts. He is 4-3 with a 3.14 earned-run average and one save, with a .232 opponent batting average and 38 strikeouts in 51 2/3 innings. He leads Felician in victories. Godfrey is a 2011 graduate of Millville High.

Petosa was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week. In a 3-1 week for the Golden Falcons, the 5-foot-10 right-fielder went 8 for 17 with three extra-base hits, seven runs scored, and eight runs batted in. He was 3 for 4 with a double, an inside-the-park home run, and four RBI in the victory at Mercy. Petosa leads Felician and is fourth in the CACC in batting at .391. In 31 games, he has 11 extra-base hits, including two homers, 30 runs scored, and 25 RBI. He also tops the Golden Falcons with eight stolen bases.
Felician is a member of NCAA Division II. The Golden Falcons have a 18-17 overall won-lost record, and sit in second place in the CACC at 10-2, heading into today's CACC doubleheader at Dominican (N.Y.) College.
