Morris, Petosa Attain Academic All-CACC Honors
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College baseball student-athletes Dan Morris (Matawan, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) and Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Spring 2011 All-Academic Team, the CACC has announced.
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a CACC spring championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.
Morris, a senior pitcher, and Petosa, a sophomore outfielder, were both in their first year of eligibility for the award. Morris played two seasons for Felician after transferring from Dutchess Community College, and graduated with a 3.59 GPA as a criminal justice major. In 16 appearances (three starts), he went 2-0 in 2011 with four saves and a 3.00 earned-run average.
Petosa owns a GPA of 3.74 while majoring in accounting. The 2010 CACC Rookie of the Year, he batted .277 in 2011 while leading the Golden Falcons in both hits (39) and walks (22). Morris and Petosa helped Felician to a 24-22 overall won-lost record.
