27 Golden Falcons Honored Academically By D2 ADA

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Twenty-seven Felician University student-athletes have been named winners of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for 2016-17. The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level.

In order to be recognized with a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, recipients must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, have attended college for at least four semesters, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate athletic team during his/her last academic year. The recipient's athletics director must also be a current dues-paying member of the D2 ADA.

The women's soccer team was the most prolific Felician squad with seven honorees, followed by the baseball squad with five. The Golden Falcons had claimed 26 winners overall in 2015-16, and 28 the previous year.

Nationally, 183 institutions and a record number of student-athletes (10,644) were recognized, including 467 student-athletes from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
