COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Felician College allowed three goals in a five-minute, 27-second span of the second half en route to a 4-1 non-conference women's soccer loss to Merrimack College during Day 2 of the DoubleTree Kick Off Classic, hosted by Saint Michael's College on Saturday morning at Doc Jacobs Field. Merrimack received votes in the 2008 preseason national NCAA Division II coaches poll.

In the first half, Felician goalkeeper Amanda Musarra (South Amboy, NJ) made six saves and defender Brittney Brodniak (Woodbridge, NJ) cleared a ball from in front of the goal line to help the Golden Falcons keep the game scoreless into halftime despite a 13-5 shot disadvantage. The Warriors' Jessie DeGraan (Braintree, MA) opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, keying a string of positive plays for MC.

Less than three minutes after DeGraan's goal, Merrimack scored a second time on a mishandled shot off the foot of Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton, CT). In the ensuing minute, Warrior keeper Shannon Rowan (Fair Haven, NJ) would save a Golden Falcon penalty kick, and Kara Hannigan (Pawtucket, RI) then tallied at 56:40 to put the game away.

Felician freshman Stephanie Jimenez (Fair Lawn, NJ) scored her first career goal in the 73rd minute. Musarra and Shaneil Lorenzo (Dover, NJ) combined for 12 saves. Brodniak was named to the All-Tournament Team.
