RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- The Felician College volleyball team began its 2008 season on Friday with two matches at the Super 8 Spikefest, hosted by Arkansas Tech University at Tucker Coliseum. Felician lost a pair of three game decisions to the University of Alabama-Huntsville and Cameron University.
In their first match of the day, the Golden Falcons fell at the hands of UAH, 25-21 25-8 25-12 in the season opener for both schools. Felician battled back from a 17-9 deficit before succumbing in Game 1, but was held to a negative attack percentage by the Chargers in the final two games. Sophomore Amber Doran (Little Ferry, NJ) put up four kills and three digs. UAH's Allison Cousins (Huntsville, AL) posted match highs of eight kills and six service aces while hitting .615.
Later Friday evening, Cameron held Felician to 10 total kills in a 25-8 25-8 25-11 victory in its 2008 lid-lifter. The Aggies hit .408 as a team and added 16 aces. Lindsay Paziuk (Prince George, B.C.) led all hitters with nine kills. Doran and Erica Moore (Ridgefield Park, NJ) had four digs apiece for Felician.
