Felician Athletics - 7/1/08 GENERAL - Felician Opts Not To Renew Fitzgerald

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College has not renewed the contracts of Erin Fitzgerald as assistant director of athletics and head women’s soccer coach, the College announced today. Both contracts expired on Monday.

Fitzgerald came to Felician in April 2003 as the head women’s soccer coach and administrative assistant for the athletics department. She guided the Golden Falcons to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament berths in each of her first two seasons, including a championship game appearance in 2003. She earned 24 victories in five years.

In 2005, Fitzgerald was promoted to the assistant A.D. position, which included the function of senior woman administrator. She oversaw the budgets and travel for the Golden Falcons’ 10 varsity sports, and moderated the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She was the chair of the CACC women’s soccer committee and served on the sport’s NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Advisory Committee.

Fitzgerald has coached college soccer for 11 years, including the last eight as a head coach.
