Felician Athletics - 6/12/08 GENERAL - Seven Golden Falcons Attain Spring Academic All-CACC Status

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Seven Felician College student-athletes have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Spring 2008 All-Academic Team, which the CACC released today.

In order to be selected to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC spring championship sport, been at least a sophomore academically and athletically, been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher.

The CACC All-Academic program is in its fourth season. Felician senior Nick Lyons (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) earned the honor for the third time in golf, as did Heather Van Dyke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford) in softball. Seven Golden Falcons in school history have now become three time Academic All-CACC selections in the same sport, including Lyons twice. He also accomplished the feat in men’s soccer.

In all, 72 student-athletes from the CACC’s 13 member schools were honored this spring; the complete list is available at www.caccathletics.org/news/2007/All-Academic.spring.6-12-08. Felician’s recipients are listed below with GPA and major course of study. A total of 203 players were given the award league-wide in 2007-08, including 20 from Felician.
