RUTHERFORD, N.J. – High-school seniors C.C. Cousins of Paterson, Ashlee DiSalvo of Batavia, N.Y., and Tina Garcia of Miami, Fla., have signed national letters of intent to continue their volleyball careers at Felician College, Felician head coach Alan Clements announced today. Additionally, Megan DeLamater of Paramus has inked an athletic financial aid agreement to join the Golden Falcons in the fall.

“I am excited to sign such talented players for my first recruiting class at Felician,” Clements said. “These athletes will help bring stability to our program, and our defensive play should be much improved. With their help, we expect to be more competitive in our conference.”

Cousins, a 5-foot-10 middle blocker, played two years for Clements at Fair Lawn High. Also an all-county basketball player for the Cutters, she has committed to play both sports for the Golden Falcons. She intends to major in criminal justice.

DiSalvo was an all-county selection at two different positions during her career at Batavia High. As a senior, she achieved fourth team Class B all-state and honorable-mention Democrat & Chronicle all-Greater Rochester status. She also plays for the Premiere Volleyball Club. A National Honor Society member, DiSalvo will enroll in Felician’s teacher education program.

Garcia was an honorable-mention all-conference choice as a senior at Ferguson High, and is a former member of the Spike Volleyball Club. She projects as a libero at the college level, and expects to study communication.

DeLamater will transfer after attending Saint Peter’s College during the 2007-08 academic year. She did not participate in athletics and will have four years of eligibility. A 5-foot-10 setter/opposite hitter, she was a first-team all-league and all-Bergen County honoree for Paramus High in 2006. As a junior, she helped the Spartans to the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title after they captured the Group 3 state championship. DeLamater, who most recently played for the Cut Shot Volleyball Club, will major in elementary education.

Felician is a member of NCAA Division II and plays in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. In 2007, Clements’s first season with the Golden Falcons, the team set a school record for victories and reached the CACC Tournament for the first time.
