Felician Athletics - 5/11/08 BASEBALL - Bello Named All-CACC Tournament

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- Felician College freshman shortstop Hector Bello of Miami, Fla., was selected to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the event Sunday afternoon at Wilson Field.

Bello drove in Felician's only run of the tournament and had three of its seven base hits. Starting the Golden Falcons' second game on Thursday at third base due to a teammate's injury, he also provided one of the playoffs' most entertaining moments. Pursing a foul pop-up in the seventh inning, he slipped and fell, but still followed the flight of the ball and made the catch while lying on his back.

The No. 4 seed Golden Falcons were eliminated from contention on Thursday with losses to No. 1 seed Philadelphia University, 13-0, and No. 3 Dominican (N.Y.) College, 7-1. Bello, who earlier on Thursday was announced as the CACC Rookie of the Year, went 3 for 7 on the day.
