WHITE LAKE, N.C. -- The Felician College golf team finished 18th out of 20 teams in the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of North Carolina-Pembroke on Sunday at Carolina Sand Golf Club.

Sophomore Joe Peters (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) led the Felician contingent with a five-over-par round of 77, including a 37 on the front nine holes, on the 6,925-yard course. Peters, who shot his third consecutive sub-80 round, tied for 38th place out of 99 competitors.

Felician shot a four-man 18-hole total of 362, placing ahead of Chowan University (375) and Ferrum College (378). Also scoring for the Golden Falcons were freshman Joe Leardo (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) (80, T-61st), sophomore Rob Young (Glendale, NY/Cathedral Prep) (90, 88th), and senior Greg Patullo (South Amboy, NJ/Bishop Ahr) (115, 97th).

Coker College won the team championship at 286, and Coker's Trey Bridwell defeated Kent George of Lenior-Rhyne College in a playoff after both shot 69. The tournament was scheduled as a two-day event, but Saturday's round was rained out.
