Felician Athletics - 4/2/08 GOLF - Leardo Is Rookie Of Week, A Felician Golf First

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Joe Leardo of Belleville has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Golf Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today. He is the first golfer to earn a CACC weekly award in the three-year history of the Felician program.

In the Golden Falcons’ only action of last week, Leardo shot an 18-hole round of 79 at a double-dual match hosted by Holy Family University. At the 6,148-yard, par-70 Torresdale-Frankford Country Club in Philadelphia, Leardo posted his collegiate low round and carded Felician’s first sub-80 performance of the season. Despite two losses for the Golden Falcons, Leardo finished in a tie for fourth place out of 18 competitors.
