 RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Nick Riker of Highlands has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the CACC announced today. Felician has won both such awards handed out this season.
Making his second start of the season, Riker settled for a no-decision against regionally-ranked Pace University in the Golden Falcons’ home opener on Thursday. The 6-foot-2 right-hander pitched 6 2/3 innings, yielding two earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and two walks, leaving the game with a 3-2 lead in an eventual 9-3 Felician loss. Felician teammate B.J. Senna of Wallingford, Conn., was the season’s first CACC Pitcher of the Week on March 3.
Riker is 0-1 with a 2.77 earned-run average and a .217 opponent batting average this season. He is a 2004 graduate of Red Bank Catholic, and played his first two collegiate seasons at Brookdale Community College.
