Felician Athletics - 2/18/08 MEN'S BASKETBALL - For Young, CACC Awards Reach Five

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Devon Young of Monmouth Junction has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, the CACC announced today. It is the fifth such honor for Young this season.

Young, a 6-foot-3 forward, helped Felician to a 1-1 week, both in road games, by averaging 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He registered 15 points, six rebounds and six assists in last Wednesday’s victory over Nyack College that kept his team’s conference playoff hopes alive.

Young is the leading scorer for the 9-15 Golden Falcons, and the top freshman scorer in the CACC. Starting all 24 games, he has amassed 16.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in a team-high 35.2 minutes per contest. He is a 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High.
