2/16/08 MEN'S BASKETBALL - Rams Stay Unbeaten In CACC At Expense Of Felician Print E-mail
PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia University men's basketball team improved to 13-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with an 88-76 CACC interdivisional victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center. Philadelphia is ranked No. 6 in the Northeast Region of NCAA Division II.

At the end of a first half which featured nine lead changes, Felician (9-15, 3-10), trailed, 44-40, despite shooting nearly 55 percent for the period. The Rams, still ahead by four with 13:03 to play, went on an 11-2 run for a 69-56 edge at the 8:36 mark. The teams traded points for their next three possessions, before Philadelphia scored six consecutive points for what proved to be a decisive 81-62 advantage with 4:42 remaining.

The Rams' Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/Solebury Prep) (9-14 FG) recorded game highs of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Jason Hickenbotton (Philadelphia, PA/Simon Gratz) (7-11 FG) scored 19 points for the winners, and Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) had 16 points, including the 1,000th of his career. Philadelphia (16-11, 13-0) shot 50 percent for the day and attempted more than twice as many free throws (33-16) as the Golden Falcons.

Felician was led by Devon Young's (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) 21 points and 17 points from Kashiff Foster (Somerset, NJ/Rutgers Prep). Jason Romer (New York, NY/Wadleigh) posted 16 points and seven rebounds.
