CALDWELL, N.J. -- In its 81-64 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division loss to Caldwell College on Saturday night, visiting Felician College saw a three-point deficit turn into 22 late in the first half at the Newman Center, then fell short in a furious comeback attempt.

Felician (8-12, 2-8) withstood Caldwell making its first seven field-goal attempts. The Cougars led by as many as six points on three occasions in the first 13 minutes, but Golden Falcon freshman Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) cut the deficit in half with a three-point field goal with 6:42 remaining in the period. From that point on, however, Caldwell closed with a 21-3 run for a 42-20 halftime lead. The Cougars outshot Felician, 76-28 percent, for the half.

The Golden Falcons fell behind by as many as 31 points with 11:09 remaining before bouncing back to within 72-60 at the 3:12 mark. Caldwell (8-12, 6-4) then made three consecutive defensive stops and received two free throws and a dunk from Manny Perez (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/EHT) to wrap up the victory. The Cougars' B.J. Suchy (Ronkonkoma, NY/Our Savior) (8-11 FG) led all scorers with 21 points and Perez finished with 16.

For Felician, Young recorded 20 points and seven rebounds, and fellow freshman Kashiff Foster (Somerset, NJ/Rutgers Prep) added 15 points. Caldwell sweeps the season series between the schools for the first time since 2001-02.
